Prac Week 2

Life of  a Teacher

Week 2 of Prac4001 was more interesting as i have better and more frequent interaction with the gentlemen of Naparima College during this week.Though there was interruption, many did not stop the proceedings of class throughout the school

For my second week of Prac all 3 of my wonderful lecturers came to see and enjoy my teaching skills in the classroom. I was most happy with myself as well as my students who all worked together with me to accomplish the lesson set out.

The feedback from all 3 was amazing and the way i engaged my students, my use of multiple resources, being able to use both the classroom and technology, classroom discussions and most important both Dr.Rocke and Dr.Ellis commend me on my classroom management skills.

Along with my good comments from my lecturers i was allowed to relfect on my own teaching nd identify was worked well and good in my lesson, feedback also came from my peers who sat in my lesson which also helped me as i was able to get a number of reviews.

Along with my great feedback there were also some suggestion of things that i can use and incorporate into my teaching.The suggests came from my lecturers as well as my peers and even myself as i reflected i could have seen where i can use the same strategy but in a different way.

This week Prac was awesome and i really look forward to my last week.

PRAC WEEK 1

STRESS STRESS STRESS......

Its my first week at Prac 4001 and it did turn out to be quite and eventful week more than i expected. I am based at Naparima College where i am assigned to teach from forms 1 to 4. I am scheduled for 6 classes per week but as stated above my first week turn out to be eventful where classes were constantly disrupted due to on-going school activities.

The few lessons that was taught in the week turned out well and successful. My resources aided me in my teaching and the class activities engaged all my students ensuring that everyone was able to learn something.My handouts worked well in saving time and being able to complete my lessons successfully.

From my peers i did receive some feed back and this helped me to better shape my lessons, resources as well as activities.

I do look forward to my second week of teaching.

Last week I met the MET office 😊😊😊😊

Last week Thursday i had the opportunity to learn from a knowledgeable Meteorologist who was willing to aid me in understanding Synoptic charts created using and understanding weather patterns.
This class was well worth my time and effort as she took her time in helping and explain to me sometimes individually the symbols and readings of weather forecast.

This class helped me to better grasp the design of these charts and the creation of our own synoptic charts allowed me to actually put into practice that what taught in the class. This was and amazing experience something that as a teacher i will hope to xpose my students too in the future.
