Hello,
so i am at it again welcome back!!!
The name of my blog is " Kinetics Learners - I Like to Move it Move it" inspration from Dr.Babb class activity which really stood out to me as a teacher as well as a student.
Class began on a high note as usual but different we began with a short concept check where i had to pull all the information that i gathered in my brains over the past few weeks to define geographical terms all of which i did hear off, this concept check allowed me to reflect and really determine how much content i knew and how much i did not know.We were asked to compare and discus our answers with our fellow mates most of whom had different answers even though we are all in the same class and expose to the same reading materials. This way i was able to personally understand my misconceptions and fill in information that i may have over-looked during my discussion wit my partner. The marking of the concept check also remind me of how much more work i needed to put it.
This particular classed that was based on Planetary Winds was bit challenging for me as i felt so overwhelmed as the class continued to go more in depth. The break down and listing of the rules on how air governed the world did help as a reminder through out the lesson as well as the creation of movements that we each had to come up wit did help reinforce the rules and make more sense to me personally since being a dancer movements is always easier for to remember and makes more sense to the explanation that matches it.
Also the videos that i looked at in classes always helped me to better understand the way the air works and how more so in understanding the dynamics of the Coriolis Effect which we also learned about.
Another great class activity was the group work which i looked at as a term building strategy and activity. K Knights was given DESERTS WINDS to research though we were time constricted and worked with only two members present we were still able to complete to requirements to the presentation and i felt personally proud as i found that we presented better than the first time we were given the opportunity which i did realize that our team building activity has been working for the better so far.And this personal improvement within my group has boosted me individually to continue to work hard.
CONGRATS K KNIGHTS!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

OMG THE TEMPERATURE IS HOT HOT HOT !!!!!!
Hola Welcome Back!!!!!!
My blog today focuses of a very important aspect in my course. My blog will be dedicated to LAPSE RATE.
Question : Can snow exist at the equator?
This was the question that kicked of class on Tuesday, this immediately had me thinking and using team skills and critical team working thinking, The K Knights decided that snow could not have existed near the equator since the closer towards the equator the hotter it is as compare to the further away you are the cooler and colder it gets. Not willing to change our answer to the question Dr.Babb proceeded with the class.
Dr.Babb in this class introduced me better to the term Atmosphric Cooling and Lapse Rate, both geographical term i would have encountered during my study and participation in the MetEd courses.
I was able to undersyand in my own way that Atmospheric Cooling had two sides to it that is

Dr.Babb in this class introduced me better to the term Atmosphric Cooling and Lapse Rate, both geographical term i would have encountered during my study and participation in the MetEd courses.
I was able to undersyand in my own way that Atmospheric Cooling had two sides to it that is
- when the air is less dense it absorbs less heat
- AS COMPARED TO
- when the air is more dense it absorbs more heat
Through these two pointers i was able to understand in my own way high an low pressure air with the guidance of Dr.Babb's diagram.
Keeping the question of the existence of Snow close to the equator in mind we proceeding to understand the term Lapse Rate, which from my understanding it deals with height, temperature and altitude.
Given the information about lapse rate we were asked to work out the formula that would give us the temperature of the highest point in each country that was identified in the list provided by Dr.Babb. After much difficulty and putting our ideas and heads together K Knights were able to complete the formula that solved the questions.
Formula + sea level (30) - (height/1000 * average rate) =
This most difficult part of Finding Temperature for me was understanding and identifying with the formula, although it proved to be a challenge in lass for me i did appreciate how Dr.Babb allowed me to figure out the formula on my own because i was able to better understand the content that was taught and i had to use this knowledge and apply it in my formulation of the formula this required
some serious braining wreaking and critical thinking.
The completion of this exercise allowed me and K Knights to review our answer on the existence of snow near the equator. We used our points and located it on the world map where we saw some mountains that existed close to the equator and had Low Temperature which from my understanding meant that snow could have existed at the top because it would have been so cold. So through the understanding of the content and it application of my knowledge in the exercise given by Dr.Babb i was able to reflect on the question that was given at that beginning of the class.
Though this class proved to be a bit of a challenged for me personally, i did have my group K Knights who helped and guided me along this class.
LOVE YOU K KNIGHTS🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

GreenHouse Gases
Hello Welcome back to my blog.
My blog focuses on our class
discussion about Atmospheric Energy as well as our Term Building Activities.
Why is Team Building important?
As an individual we may be
faced with situation where we are often asked to work with others hence the
understanding and practice of team building is vital as enforced by Dr.Babb.
During our last class our team building activity required at as a group we set
our own rules and expectation of each other together. This activity allowed us
to bond and have pen discuss about what as a group we hope to achieve and by
using these rules how we can achieve our aim as K Knights. This team building
can reflect the quote "Together we aspire Together we Achieve".
During our class questions such
as What gases exist in the atmosphere? How does radiation from the sun impact
and affect the atmosphere?
These questions led to open
class discussions where we concluded that the majority of the atmosphere was made
up of Nitrogen and Oxygen and the rest in other gases. Some of us in class
thought Carbon Dioxide was in existence in a large amount but after a brief
discussion had Carbon Dioxide be in a large amount we are living organisms
would have crease to exist.
We were then also given a
diagram where as a group we were ask to study the picture an present the story
or findings of the picture. K Knights presented where we spoke about the
radiation of the Sun being adsorbed into the atmosphere, where there were man
made activities that can affect the atmosphere and the existance of the green
house gases in the atmosphere. This activity also added to team building and it
showed K Knights where we needed to improve as a group especially during
presentations.
What stood out in this activity
was the improvement of the class questioning skills and the higher order
questions that were being asked by each group. If the existence of Green House
Gases are present in the atmosphere why are we still experiencing Global Warming?
This was one of the many higher order questions that were asked. That the end of
each presentation something new was added by each group to my understanding of
the picture. This oral presentation allowed me to express myself and also
helped me as an individual to improve and expand my questioning skills. It also
left we with questions that i needed to do some research to get my answers.

Welcome to my blog😊😊😊😊 !!!!!!
Yesterday was my first class for the course GEOG4011 with Dr.Babb. It was a most intense yet fun interactive class full of activities. Dr.Babb teaching strategies was most amazing it allowed to reflect on how much i know , what i needed to know and how much i would have remembered from my past courses. I do look forward to a fun yet fulfilling semester.
